Terms of Service

By accessing or using any ProofChain product — including ProofScript, ProofBooks, ProofSound, ProofTrain, ProofSchool, ProofLegal, and ProofVerify — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our services.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ProofChain Private Limited ("ProofChain", "we", "us", or "our"), a company incorporated in India.

ProofSchool (B2B school-tier) carries product-specific terms that supplement and, where conflicting, override these general Terms. See proofschool.in/terms for the school-specific instrument signed at subscription start. ProofTrain is governed by these Terms with the product-specific clauses in Section 8.

ProofChain provides blockchain-anchored timestamp verification and AI-powered analysis services across multiple creative and professional domains:

• ProofScript — Screenplay blockchain timestamping, AI analysis, ScriptPad (browser-based screenwriting editor), marketplace discovery, and industry tools for screenwriters and producers.
• ProofBooks — Manuscript and book blockchain timestamping, AI analysis, publisher discovery, training analysis, and adaptation tools for authors and publishers.
• ProofSound — Audio and music blockchain timestamping with AI analysis for artists, composers, and producers.
• ProofLegal — Document timestamping with RFC 3161 timestamps for legal professionals and organisations. Designed to support admissibility as electronic evidence.
• ProofTrain — AI evaluation of training programmes, verified trainer profiles, course IP timestamping, opportunities/gigs, and learner feedback campaigns for L&D teams and edtech partners. Hosted at prooftrain.in.
• ProofSchool — B2B SQAAF-aligned teacher assessment for Indian schools. Five-stream evidence framework, AI-graded teaching artifacts, DPDP-compliant parental consent. Sold as annual school subscriptions; school-specific terms at proofschool.in/terms.
• ProofVerify — Free public verification portal for independently verifying any ProofChain-protected work.

When you upload a file for timestamping, a cryptographic hash (SHA-256) is generated locally on your device and anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain via the OpenTimestamps protocol, with a parallel RFC 3161 TSA token where available.

Important: Our service creates evidence of when a file existed at a specific point in time. It is NOT copyright registration and does not constitute legal proof of ownership or authorship.

ProofChain certificates may be used as supporting evidence in legal or professional disputes. We recommend consulting a qualified legal professional for matters relating to copyright protection and intellectual property.

• You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• One account per person or entity.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use our services. The sole exception is ProofSchool, where students under 18 may submit anonymous feedback under verifiable parental consent obtained by the school — see proofschool.in/terms.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Each product (ProofScript, ProofBooks, ProofSound, ProofLegal, ProofTrain) requires a separate product registration under the same account.

You agree not to:

• Use our services for any illegal purpose or to protect illegal content.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or circumvent our systems.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access our services without written permission.
• Impersonate another person or entity.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of our services.
• Upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
• Abuse AI analysis services by submitting content designed to manipulate or game scoring algorithms.
• Share or redistribute paid analysis reports, pitch decks, or premium content without authorisation.
• Submit prompt-injection payloads, jailbreak attempts, or content designed to extract our system prompts or proprietary instructions.

Payments are processed securely through Razorpay. All prices are listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive or exclusive of GST as displayed at the point of purchase. Tax invoices are emailed within 24 hours of payment receipt.

No refunds are provided, except as required by applicable law or as set out below. Before completing payment, you are given the opportunity to preview your certificate or analysis scope free of charge. This preview ensures you know exactly what you are paying for.

Specific refund and cancellation rules vary by product and pricing model (one-time timestamp, AI analysis, credit pack, recurring subscription, annual school subscription). The complete per-product policy is published at /refund-and-cancellation and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Credit bundles and credit packs, where available, are non-refundable but do not expire. Credits can be used across all services within the respective product. Subscription cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued for unused subscription time except where required by law.

All services are delivered electronically. Timestamp certificates are issued within minutes of payment; AI analyses are typically completed within 10 minutes to 24 hours depending on tier and provider availability. The full delivery commitment is published at /shipping-and-delivery.

Pricing for all services is subject to change. Current prices are displayed at the point of purchase. ProofChain may offer promotional pricing, bundles, or discounts at its discretion; this does not entitle prior purchasers to retroactive adjustments.

ProofChain offers blockchain-anchored timestamp protection across its products:

• ProofScript & ProofBooks: Per-work protection with SHA-256 hashing, Bitcoin blockchain anchoring, RFC 3161 TSA dual-layer timestamps, watermarked certificates, and marketplace listing eligibility.
• ProofSound: Per-track protection with pricing based on audio type (songs, scores/BGM, beats/productions, and other audio). Includes watermarked audio protection.
• ProofLegal: Per-document protection with individual and organisation bulk pricing tiers. RFC 3161 compliant certificates designed to support admissibility as electronic evidence under the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023.
• ProofTrain: Course IP timestamping for trainers and L&D teams, bundling Bitcoin + TSA anchors for trainer-authored material.

Revisions to previously protected works are available at reduced pricing. All protection records are permanent and independently verifiable on the Bitcoin blockchain.

ProofChain offers AI-powered analysis services branded as "ProofIntelligence" across ProofScript and ProofBooks. These services process user-submitted text through third-party AI models, including but not limited to Anthropic Claude and OpenAI.

• Your submitted text is sent to third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) via encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS) for processing. These providers do not use your content for AI model training. API data may be retained for a short safety-monitoring window — up to 7 days by Anthropic and up to 30 days by OpenAI, as per each provider's standard policy — after which it is permanently deleted. No human reads your content unless flagged for abuse. Only the analysis results are saved to your account — your original script/manuscript is never stored on our servers after analysis is complete.
• Analysis results (scores, insights, Cinema DNA, Literary DNA, market positioning, pitch decks) are stored in your account. Results are private by default but may become visible if you opt in to public features such as showcase cards, leaderboard rankings, or marketplace listings.
• AI-generated outputs are for informational and creative purposes only. They do not constitute professional screenplay, literary, legal, or financial advice.
• Analysis accuracy is not guaranteed. Scores and insights reflect AI interpretation and may not align with industry professional opinions.

Analysis Tiers:

• Free Snapshot: Synopsis-based scores and DNA analysis. Requires a free account.
• Professional: Comprehensive craft and market analysis with downloadable PDF report. Requires payment through Razorpay.
• Premium: Deep-dive analysis with pitch-deck generation, investment readiness report, and executive summaries. Requires payment through Razorpay.
• Adaptation (Book to Screenplay): Available on ProofBooks. Converts manuscripts into screenplay format with adaptation analysis. Requires payment through Razorpay.

Specific pricing for each tier is displayed at the point of purchase and is subject to change.

ProofTrain is the trainer and L&D platform of ProofChain. It is hosted at prooftrain.in and is governed by these Terms with the product-specific provisions below.

Features:

• Training Design Analysis: AI evaluation of training programme content (structure, learning outcomes, engagement design, delivery readiness, measurable impact, real-world transfer).
• Trainer Profiles & Verification: Public trainer profiles with optional Premium-tier verification. Verified status requires submission of credentials (LinkedIn, certifications, portfolio) and review by ProofChain staff.
• Opportunities (gigs): L&D teams post training engagements; trainers submit proposals. ProofChain facilitates discovery but does not mediate transactions or guarantee engagement outcomes.
• Feedback Campaigns: Anonymous learner feedback on trainer-led programmes. Premium-tier capability with configurable cadence and question banks.
• Course IP Timestamping: Per-document protection of trainer-authored material under the same blockchain + TSA mechanism described in Section 6.

Pricing model:

• ProofTrain operates on a credit-pack pricing model. Each AI analysis or design generation consumes a fixed number of credits, regardless of plan tier. Credit packs are sold via Razorpay as one-time orders and do not expire.
• Free-tier users receive an introductory credit allowance. Additional capability — white-label reports, verified trainer status, top-placement in discovery, feedback campaigns — is gated to the Premium tier (₹499/month or equivalent annual) and processed via Razorpay Subscriptions (see Section 13).
• AI cost is internally capped at a single contract per generation regardless of tier. Tier governs capability, not cost-control.

Output quality:

• AI-generated analyses and designs are advisory. They are not a substitute for instructional-design expertise, pedagogical judgement, or formal training certification.
• ProofChain does not warrant that AI-generated content is error-free. The platform surfaces per-dimension scores with explicit justifications and verbatim quote attribution to make AI errors easier to spot.

ProofScript offers AI-powered chat services for screenwriters, including general conversation and specialised Scene Doctor mode.

• Chat conversations are processed through third-party AI providers (including OpenAI) via encrypted connection. These providers do not use your messages for AI model training. API data may be retained briefly for safety monitoring, then permanently deleted.
• Chat history is stored in your account. You may delete individual conversations at any time.
• Free users receive a limited number of messages. Additional messages may be purchased through recharge packs or subscriptions.
• Scene Doctor mode consumes additional message credits per query.
• AI chat responses are for informational and creative assistance only. They do not constitute professional advice.

ProofScript offers ScriptPad, a browser-based screenwriting editor that uses industry-standard Fountain format. ScriptPad allows you to write, edit, and manage screenplays entirely within your browser.

Confidentiality & staff access — the headline promise.

Your screenplay text is yours. ProofChain engineers and staff cannot read your ScriptPad drafts in the ordinary course of operating the service. Access happens only on a logged, time-limited basis when you raise a support ticket that requires inspection and explicitly consent in the same thread. We treat screenplay content as Confidential Information and bind all personnel to written confidentiality obligations. We do not data-mine, profile, derive analytics from, or train any AI model on your screenplay text. The complete policy is set out in Section 3 of our Privacy Policy.

• Content Storage: Your screenplay content is stored in our Firestore database in Mumbai (asia-south1), encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Auto-save runs every 60 seconds. Unlike our timestamping service (which stores only hashes), ScriptPad stores your full screenplay text to enable editing across sessions and devices.
• Version History: ScriptPad automatically saves snapshots of your screenplay every 15 minutes and before protection or export. Up to 30 snapshots are retained per draft. You may manually save additional snapshots at any time.
• No Third-Party Processing: Your screenplay text is never sent to any third-party service during normal editing. Only when you explicitly initiate an analysis (Analyze button) or protection (Protect button) is your content processed further, subject to the respective terms for those services.
• No collaboration sharing: ScriptPad currently has no multi-user collaboration. Your drafts are visible only to your own account until you explicitly export them, publish them to your public profile, list them on the marketplace, or initiate a protect / analyse action.
• Deletion: When you delete a draft, it is moved to a trash folder and retained for 30 days in case of accidental deletion. After 30 days, the draft and all associated snapshots are permanently deleted. You may restore drafts from trash within the 30-day window. Encrypted backups (Google Cloud point-in-time recovery) are retained for up to 7 days and are not accessible to engineers.
• Export & Portability: You may export your screenplay as PDF or Fountain plain text at any time. Your data is yours — ScriptPad is a tool, not a lock-in.
• Scene Metadata: Scene type, color tags, and omit markers are stored alongside your draft. These are organisational aids and do not affect the screenplay content itself.

ScriptPad is provided free of charge for all registered ProofScript users. ProofChain reserves the right to introduce usage limits, premium features, or subscription tiers for ScriptPad in the future with advance notice.

ProofChain offers free AI-powered entertainment tools through ProofScript Lab and ProofBooks Lab:

• ProofScript Lab: Roast My Script, Dream Cast, Box Office Predictor, Writing DNA, and OTT Fit Score.
• ProofBooks Lab: Roast My Book, Dream Cast, Bestseller Predictor, Literary DNA, and OTT Adaptation Fit.

• These tools process user-submitted text through third-party AI models to generate entertainment-oriented results.
• Results may be shared publicly via generated links. Shared results are viewable by anyone with the link and may appear on public showcase pages.
• Results are cached for up to 1 hour. Identical submissions within this window return the same cached result.
• Lab tools are provided free of charge. A free account is required. ProofChain reserves the right to modify, limit, or discontinue these tools at any time.

ProofChain operates marketplace and discovery features across its products, connecting creators with industry professionals.

Marketplace:

• Only works with confirmed blockchain protection can be listed on the marketplace.
• Listing metadata (title, genre, language, AI scores) is visible to all logged-in users. For timestamping, only the hash is stored. For paid AI analysis, content is processed on our servers but not retained after analysis is complete.
• Industry professionals may request time-limited read access to listed works. Creators approve or decline these requests at their discretion.

Discovery:

• Public profiles display the creator's name, portfolio, AI analysis scores, and protection history. Creators can control their profile visibility in settings.
• Industry professionals (producers, publishers, L&D teams) may browse creator profiles via subscription plans.

Competitions & Gigs:

• ProofChain may host writing competitions with entry fees and prizes. Competition rules, judging criteria, and prize distribution are specified per competition.
• Gig postings (ProofScript writer-room gigs, ProofBooks publisher gigs, ProofTrain opportunities) connect creators with work opportunities. ProofChain facilitates discovery but does not mediate transactions.

ProofChain does not mediate transactions, negotiations, or disputes between creators and industry professionals. We are a discovery platform, not a talent agency or rights marketplace.

ProofChain offers subscription plans across products:

• ProofScript Industry (Producer / Producer Pro): Monthly or annual recurring subscription for producers and industry professionals. Provides enhanced profile access, synopsis/blurb viewing, direct creator contact, and priority discovery features.
• ProofBooks Industry (Publisher): Monthly or annual recurring subscription for publishers.
• ProofTrain Premium: ₹499/month or equivalent annual. Unlocks white-label reports, verified trainer status, top-placement in discovery, and feedback campaigns. See Section 8.

Recurring subscriptions — how Razorpay Subscriptions and UPI Autopay work.

• Recurring subscriptions are billed via the Razorpay Subscriptions API. On first subscription, you authorise a recurring mandate (UPI Autopay, recurring card, or e-NACH) up to a per-debit cap set at subscription start. You are notified by your bank or UPI app before each debit as required by RBI rules.
• Cancellation: You may cancel a recurring subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued for unused subscription time except where required by law.
• Price changes: ProofChain may change subscription prices. A decrease applies automatically at the start of the next billing cycle. An increase that exceeds your UPI Autopay mandate cap will halt the next debit; we will notify you and surface a re-authorisation flow in your account so you can choose to continue at the new amount or let the subscription lapse. We will not charge an amount above your mandate cap without your fresh authorisation.
• Custom pricing: Negotiated rates for industry partners, agencies, or enterprise customers may be set on a per-account basis and override the published tier rates for the agreed term.
• Notifications: We email subscribers about material subscription changes (price change, plan change, scheduled cancellation, re-authorisation requirement). You can manage notification preferences via the Resend preference centre linked in every email.

ProofChain reserves the right to modify subscription tiers, features, and pricing with at least 30 days' notice to affected subscribers.

ProofChain operates a referral program across its products. Referrers and referred users may receive credit bonuses upon successful referral and qualifying actions.

• Referral credits are non-transferable and can only be used within the respective ProofChain product.
• Maximum credit accumulation limits apply per account.
• ProofChain reserves the right to modify or discontinue the referral program at any time. Abuse of the referral system (fake accounts, self-referrals, automated signups) may result in credit forfeiture and account suspension.

In addition to Bitcoin blockchain anchoring via OpenTimestamps, ProofChain submits proof hashes to a certified RFC 3161 Time Stamping Authority (TSA) for dual-layer protection. In rare cases where the TSA is temporarily unavailable, only Bitcoin blockchain anchoring is used.

• TSA submission is provided on a best-effort basis. Failure of TSA submission does not invalidate the Bitcoin blockchain anchor and does not constitute a service failure.
• TSA tokens are stored alongside blockchain proofs and included in protection certificates where available.
• Certificates are designed to support admissibility under Section 63 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023 (BSA) for electronic records. TSA timestamps may additionally support admissibility under Section 86 of BSA 2023. Admissibility is ultimately determined by the court.

You retain all ownership of your files and creative works. ProofChain does not claim any ownership of content you protect, draft in ScriptPad, analyse, or submit to any ProofChain product.

For timestamp protection, your files are hashed locally on your device — only the cryptographic hash is transmitted and stored. For AI analysis (an optional, separate service), your file is uploaded to Cloud Storage for text extraction and processing. Both the original file and extracted text are deleted immediately after analysis is complete. Only the analysis results (scores, insights, reports) are stored in your account.

For ScriptPad, your screenplay text is stored in our database under the confidentiality and access-control terms in Section 10. You may export and delete at any time.

The ProofChain platform, branding (including ProofScript, ProofBooks, ProofSound, ProofLegal, ProofTrain, ProofSchool, ProofVerify, ProofIntelligence), logos, and underlying technology are the intellectual property of ProofChain Private Limited and may not be reproduced without written permission.

ProofChain provides its services "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied.

We are not responsible for the legal enforceability of blockchain timestamps or AI-generated outputs in any specific jurisdiction. The admissibility of electronic evidence varies by court and jurisdiction.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service in question, or, for recurring subscriptions, the fees actually paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or reputational harm.

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance windows may be required and will be communicated in advance when possible.

Blockchain confirmation times depend on the Bitcoin network and are outside our control. Typical confirmation takes 1-24 hours.

AI analysis processing times vary based on complexity, tier, and third-party provider availability. ProofChain is not responsible for delays caused by third-party AI service outages.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion is immediate and self-service.

Upon deletion, all analysis results, AI chat history, ScriptPad drafts, and associated personal data are permanently removed within 30 days. Blockchain timestamps cannot be deleted as they are immutable by design — this is the core value of the service.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, including violations of the Acceptable Use rules in Section 4.

We may update these terms at any time. Material changes (liability, refund, governing law, data handling, recurring billing) will be communicated via email to registered users with at least 30 days' notice. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page is the authoritative effective date.

Continued use of our services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India. The parties shall attempt good-faith resolution by exchange of written notice for 30 days before initiating proceedings.

The provisions of the Information Technology Act 2000 and its amendments, including the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021 (as amended in 2022), and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 apply to the use of our services.
